Some 42 kilometres from Middlemarch, Kokonga Lodge is set in the heart of Central Otago and alongside the 150-kilometre Otago Central Rail Trail, which is the premiere biking and walking trail in New Zealand.
Surrounded by dramatic views over the Maniototo plains, Kokonga Lodge offers stylish, ensuite rooms, bathrobes, fresh flowers, wind-dried linens and perfumed toiletries. The guest areas are comfortable, well appointed and welcoming. Delicious meals are prepared and cooked fresh daily using home-grown and local produce. The
lodge offers a wonderful refuge for complete relaxation or as a base to explore this fascinating area.
Transport: Taieri Gorge Train
The Taieri Gorge Limited train is Dunedin's prestige tourist train operating from the historic Dunedin Railway Station. Departing daily to Middlemarch or Pukerangi it travels through the rugged and spectacular Taieri River Gorge, across wrought iron viaducts and through tunnels carved by hand more than 100 years ago. With full commentary, photographic stops, comfortable heating in winter and on-board refreshments the train offers year round all-weather entertainment.

Pre-payment Policy: A deposit of 25% of the total bed and breakfast rate is required to confirm the booking. This can be made by cheque, Visa or Mastercard. The balance is payable on departure.
Cancellation Policy: If cancellation is made within 30 days of arrival, we will charge a 25% cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival, we will charge the full amount payable. If rooms subsequently sell the charge will be refunded or revoked. This cancellation policy will be strictly enforced.
